Till yet, you must be aware of how you are going to install a connection, right? If not, then you can leave your queries to my email address (ahsonshaikh616@gmail.com). And if yes? Then let’s head forth to unfold more invaluable knowledge.

What is a POP/Data-Center?

POP or PoP is an acronym for Point of Presence, it is also an alternative name for the data-center. It is the place where your ISP franchise or your entire ISP would be located. So, what exactly is the Data-Center? Well, to be precise, Data-center is the place where all your devices are installed or mounted into a rack or racks for further distribution of the Network to the end-customer.

Data-center must have couple of elements to make it look professional:

  1. Data-Center can be encompassed by glass doors to make it look like a true Data-center. One can behold the devices and their activities from outside of the door.
  2. Temperature inside the data-center should be maintained below 25 Degree Centigrade. Else, the devices would not perform well when heated up while no temperature support available.
  3. You can add false floor and false ceiling to your data-center to make it look legit, although it can be useful for laying different cable either under the false floor or above the false ceiling.
  4. Data-Center should have at least one rack, lockable one, which doesn’t move when locked up, to mount your Network Equipment. You can contact CISCO manufacturers for which you are going to need, depending upon the type of Network you are trying to customize.
  5. If you are an Internet Service Provider, then be cautious about the Backup power. You must have couple of back-up plans in case of power failure.

These are the steps you should take before creating a Data-Center, hope you would have find it useful.
